This course introduces the Continuous Improvement (CI) Mindset and how this approach, using the PDCA Cycle, can enhance problem-solving.  Each step of the PDCA Cycle is reviewed along with relevant tools that will assist in identifying, analyzing, and making improvements.  Finally, the course offers insight on how to make this valuable approach a habit.

Learning Format

Online Course Format:

  • Students are provided with a course guide that provides a convenient format for capturing notes and documenting the Applied Learning Activities.
  • Course content is broken up into a series of modules.
  • Each module consists of "bite sized" instructor-led lessons with a Knowledge Check at the end of each module, along with an Applied Learning Activity. 
  • Each Applied Learning Activity challenges the student to apply concepts learned in the module to a situation in their workplace and is usually 30–60 minutes in duration.
  • Each course has a dashboard % completion that tracks progress.
  • A course Certificate is available upon request to students that complete all lessons, Knowledge Checks, and Applied Learning Activities.  

Learning Support

Email and Webinars:

  • Email support is provided to answer questions.
  • Students will also be able to attend a bi-monthly live webinar to get questions answered they have submitted by email.  Time permitting, there is a chat feature that can be used for questions. The webinars are usually every week, but they are offered a minimum of twice per month.  The calendar and sign-up for the webinar series are part of the course dashboard.
